My Granddad loved to grow vegetables in his garden. When I was a child, I wanted to help my Granddad to dig up the potatoes in his garden. But I was too small to lift the shovel. I promised my Granddad that when I grew up, I'd be big and strong, and I'd visit him and help him dig his potatoes. He mentioned it a few times over the passing years as I grew up. Now its a few years since my Granddad died. I never visited him to dig his potatoes. But this broken promise helps me to remember my Granddad.

I promised to an Italian guy dressed up as Samuel L.Jackson (it was at a movie themed party) that I would give him a set of Slovak Euro coins and help him to complete his collection of Euro coins. I made this promise more than one year ago and I have been carrying those coins in my bag since then but still didn't have time to meet him...

Every year I keep promising to myself that I will do something special at the occasion of my birthday. I think birthday should be a special day, there is always only one such day each year and only as many years to be able to have this special day. And as each year before, this year's birthday will be the same as other days in the year, I am not up to anything special. Or am I !? A cake, birthday wishes from family, friends and pizza&wine dinner with my husband are special enough, aren't they? I will leave it up to you if my promise of special birthday counts into broken promises or not :-)

After a rather self-destructive relationship, I kind of promised myself never to repeat certain things I did. Some time later I repeated these things even as I was pretty conscious about that. Conclusion: maybe I actually like suffering.

I promised myself I'll stop eating meat and will exercise daily to live a healthier life. But I still eat meat occassionally and I don't excercise daily at all.

I've been promising my mom that I'd go home for Christmas every year since I left home. I've never made it though. I miss my family but I'm not sure if I want to go home. I think I'll keep breaking that promise adn I feel bad about it.

Sľubila som si, že budem študovať angličtinu i španielčinu 3 hodiny týždenne. Radšej menej a naozaj... Ale zatial...
I promesed myself that i would study English and Spanish 3 hours a week. Better less but realistically... but for now...
Mirka J | Country: Spain | [3.9.2010]

This one does not really count because i JUST fulfilled my old promise. but because it is related to this website I will confess that:
I promised to myself and few other people that I would have this website up and running in September 2009. Exactly one year behind the schedule...! But - wohoooooo - finally done! Now you can submit your broken promises online no matter where in the world you are. And I am looking forward to reading them ...and becoming inspired!
